Welcome to the Estate

Spanning 900 acres, with a 500-year old moated manor house at its centre, surrounded by spectacular Grade 1 Listed gardens, the Helmingham Estate is a truly magnificent place to visit and explore time after time.

Farming and Conservation

As the latest custodians of the land at Helmingham, we take our responsibility very seriously, and this is reflected in the way we farm and our conservation practices. This way we can preserve it and improve it for future generations.

Our History

The Tollemache Family is synonymous with the Helmingham Estate, having resided here for hundreds of years. It is under their careful influence that the Hall and the lands surrounding it have taken the shape of what you now see before you.

Our Properties

The Hall

Helmingham Hall has been here since 1510, a constant across 500 years of political, geographical and social change. Built by John Tollemache and his wife, it has been home to the Tollemache family ever since.
