If you walk away from the Hall up the length of the border and turn right before the gates, you will see a new mixed border on the left. We planted this in the autumn of 1997.The colour scheme is blue, yellow and silver, incorporating Pittosporum tenuifolium, rosemary, sage. mahonias, Physocarpus diablo and ferns interplanted with vigorous perennials such as Inula magnifica and Cephelaria.

We continued the planting the following year and planted on the south-facing side David Austin roses, Hoheria 'Glory of Almych’ and Ceanothus ‘Concha’, as well as Spiraea ‘Arguta’, convolvulus cneorum and other unusual shrubs, with the dark red Sweet William, delphiniums and pyrethrum growing amongst them.
