Plant Heritage Spring Plant Fair

An exciting day out for experienced and novice gardeners alike. Hundreds of rare and unusual plants, garden and lifestyle accessories as well as local food, drink and music make this a day not just for the plant enthusiast but the whole family. Visit the Garden Marquee for insider tips and tricks on everything from pruning and propagating to how to grow edible plants and create impressive floral arrangements. Situated in front of the magnificent moated Helmingham Hall, entry to the Spring Plant Fair includes free admission into the fabulous Grade 1 Listed gardens.
This is the fourteenth year of the popular plant fair held at Helmingham Hall Gardens, Suffolk in partnership with Suffolk Plant Heritage (formerly NCCPG). 800 plants of Penstemon 'Connie's Pink' will be given away free to the first claimants - be sure to arrive early to avoid disappointment!
Over fifty exhibitors include specialist nurseries, such as Place for Plants, Woottens of Wenhaston, Paugers Plants and Pennycross Plants. Many other nurseries with a wide range of unusual as well as popular plants will be supported by stand holders such as Lark Valley Willow and Wood Alfresco who offer garden related products. The Plant Doctors will be in attendance to offer advice on plant problems and two of the Suffolk based National Collection Holders, Sarah Cook (Cedric Morris irises) and Jim Marshall (Malmaison carnations) will display and sell the plants for which they have a particular passion.

National Plant Collections based in Suffolk including Dianthus (Malmaisons) Campanula, Hosta, and Astrantia will be on display, as well as stands selling garden furniture and accessories.

A fabulous day out for all, take the opportunity to visit the Garden Marquee for tips, tricks and informative talks, enjoy some locally produced food & drink and enjoy the live music and entertainment!

TOUR OF HELMINGHAM GARDENS WITH LADY TOLLEMACHE
Lady Xa Tollemache who has won gold medals at Chelsea for her garden designs, will be taking a group of visitors round the garden at Helmingham Hall. This is a unique opportunity for a conducted tour of Helmingham. Numbers are strictly limited, so early booking is advisable. The tour will be at midday on 26th May during the Plant Fair. Tickets £15 each.

Visitors to the plant sale can also enjoy Helmingham’s Grade 1 listed gardens including the dramatic borders, knot and herb garden, nineteenth century parterre, ancient deer park and Victorian kitchen garden.
